Fly Fire Gloaming begins with the stark interior of a prison cell from the Columbia Secure Center for Girls. From this image, I pull threads of shadow, concrete, and fluorescent light, weaving them into prismatic compositions that dissolve the architecture of confinement into a luminous sanctuary web. Prison interiors become apertures; grids soften into spectral planes; fragments of ecosystems and landscapes slip through the cracks. As these elements merge, new terrains appear—worlds where carceral structures are undone by color, light, and the quiet insistence of the natural world. The piece imagines what transformation might look like when the most fortified spaces begin to glow, fracture, and open.
